Chennai-based Kothari Industrial Corporation Ltd. (KICL) is set to enter the retail sector through an agreement with France’s Royer Group to introduce the iconic Kickers brand to India. This partnership will enable KICL to establish Kickers retail stores across the country, with the first store slated to open in Chennai.
J. Rafiq Ahmed, Managing Director of KICL, stated, “The entry of Kickers into India could be transformative not only for KICL but also for the entire retail fashion sector. Kickers is a distinctive retail concept that reflects the latest trends and fashions in footwear and clothing.”
The comprehensive licensing agreement with Royer Group covers a range of Kickers products, including footwear, apparel, and accessories. Additionally, KICL has secured marketing rights for Kickers brands in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the Maldives, Bhutan, Nepal, Qatar, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
KICL, one of Tamil Nadu’s oldest and most renowned industrial houses, is headquartered in Chennai. Kickers, a heritage shoe brand founded in 1970, has French roots but a global presence.
