Meet at Agra, the Leather, Footwear Components & Technology Fair, 2022 establishes its unique position in the footwear industry and is known as the ‘premier event’ for national and international organizations seeking business opportunities in India’s huge domestic market. Meet at Agra 2022 is spread over three days, October 7th to 9th October 2022. The exhibition was conceptualized to bring together a variety of leather, footwear components and machinery & equipment manufacturers from across the world with a view to share the same business platform and enhance the benchmarks of footwear technology and service. The overall objectives that were set for Meet at Agra were: To meet its growth projections vis-a-vis the increase in the quantum of exports; To mobilize the exhibitor participation; To maximize the overall footfall in the fair, while at the same time strive to optimize ‘sharing and collaborating’ at global levels.
Meet at Agra is on the verge of crossing another Landmark – the year 2022 will be hosted at the AGRA TRADE CENTRE – a Venue indigenously developed by the Shoe Fraternity of Agra to give a boost to Conventions, Conferences, Seminars and Trade Fairs of the Footwear Industry. A state-of-the-art exhibition center is well capable of hosting large sized exhibitions, conferences, seminars, and banquets for over 5000 people, across five halls and additional conference rooms of different sizes, meeting rooms, spacious foyer area and additional open area and a lawn. It is perhaps the only Exhibition cum Convention Centre in the easier connectivity at NH-2 Agra with an over-ground parking space of over 1000 cars. ATC located on a very prime location on National Highway 2, Delhi to Agra.
SECTOR OVERVIEW
India is the second largest global producer of Footwear after China with annual production of 2080 million pairs. The Footwear Sector is a very significant segment of the Leather industry in India -rather it is Engine of Growth for the entire Leather Industry. Its Export in Footwear segment is close to US$ 3000 million.
The historic city of Agra is the biggest Footwear cluster of India. Agra is known for footwear manufacturing since the 15th century Agra has about 250 mechanized/semi mechanized units & 5,000 Cottage Industries accounting for manufacturing capacity of 3,00,000 to 5,00,000 pairs per day. It provides about 4,00,000 Jobs in the cluster. Today Agra meets 65% of domestic requirement & has 28% share in the total footwear exports from the country.
In the export market, the footwear industry of Agra is reckoned for the leather products that it sells. Footwear has a share of 46% plus in the overall exports from leather industry. Meanwhile, Agra has a contribution of 28% in the total footwear export from the country and 65% of the domestic requirement. The city has around 150 semi-mechanized manufacturing units and 5000 cottage industries, accounting for nearly 400,000 jobs and a daily production capacity of over 250,000 pairs of footwear.
A footfall of 12,700 sincere business visitors were accounted in meet at Agra 2019. Meet at Agra 2022 is spread over three days, October 7th to 9th October 2022. The inauguration will be held at 11:00 AM on October 7th and the fair will come to close on October 9th, 2022. The Fair is to be organized under a covered area of 6000 sq.mt. The total number of stalls available in a hall is more than 250 with almost 200+ exhibitors participating from India & Overseas.
