The surge follows targeted investment in hosted delegations and a curated selection of overseas buyers, developed in collaboration with Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAECI) and the Italian Trade Agency (ICE). The move underscores MICAM’s ambition to deepen its global reach and strengthen trade connections across key markets.
“Today, MICAM represents much more than a trade fair: it is a strategic hub for the entire footwear ecosystem,” said Giovanna Ceolini, President of MICAM and Assocalzaturifici, highlighting its role in driving innovation, internationalisation and industrial vision within the sector.

Looking to 2026, industry priorities centre on reinforcing the global positioning of Made in Italy, accelerating sustainability and product innovation, evolving distribution models, and upgrading manufacturing capabilities.
In parallel, MICAM is introducing a comprehensive redesign of its exhibition layout. The reconfigured halls will offer a clearer, category-led visitor journey aimed at improving navigation and fostering stronger business outcomes.

Hall 1 will focus on elegant and comfort-driven collections, Hall 3 on creativity and style, while Halls 2 and 4 will spotlight innovation and contemporary design. Hall 5 will explore global trends and host a new central hub developed with MIPEL. This space will feature M&M – The Hub, integrating training, research and innovation initiatives, including MICAM Academy and the Italian Startup area.
