Sneaker loafers had their moment. Now sneaker heels are stepping into the spotlight. Onitsuka Tiger has reimagined its iconic Mexico 66 silhouette as a kitten-heel design, unveiled during its Fall 2026 runway show.
Although the concept of a sneaker combined with a heel may seem unconventional, the move aligns with current fashion trends. The Mexico 66 has grown into one of today’s most in-demand slim-profile sneakers, standing alongside models like the adidas Samba. Its popularity has been especially strong among style-conscious women, with the black-and-yellow “Kill Bill” colorway becoming a frequent summer staple.

Building on this momentum, the heeled version keeps the shoe’s recognizable identity intact. The design includes a pointed toe, leather footbed, and a wrap-around ankle strap, while preserving the signature side stripes that define the original sneaker.
Multiple colorways were revealed on the Fall 2026 runway, including black and yellow as well as red, white, and blue options. The broader presentation also featured striking footwear such as high-top snakeskin wrestling boots, adding a dramatic edge to the collection.
All showcased styles are expected to arrive during the Fall 2026 retail season, with releases anticipated between July and September.
