No Ordinary Designer Label Limited (NODL), the company managing Ted Baker’s UK stores, went into administration in March. Following this, 15 stores were closed, and 245 positions at the store and head office were made redundant.
Administrators from Teneo have now announced plans to shut all remaining UK stores within the next three weeks. Employees have been given this period to prepare for the store closures and the impending job losses.
Meanwhile, the US-based Authentic Brands Group, which owns Ted Baker’s intellectual property, was seeking a new operating partner for the brand’s retail and e-commerce operations in the UK and Europe. However, there has been no update on this development.
Ted Baker, founded in 1988 by Ray Kelvin and once celebrated for its unique British style, employed around 975 people in the UK before its insolvency.
